Are You Counting Calories?

The percentage of calories out weighs the percentage of volumes. Percentageof volumes is inferior because it is misleading, and does not provide the actual calories in each nutrient. A diet containing calories from carbohydrates, proteins, and fats with the 80/10/10 ratio is better. For example, the percentage of volumes will provide the weight of each food by cups and spoons. This calculation for percentage of volumes leaves out the important percentage of calories in each nutrient, the percentage of calories is far better in calculating 80/10/10 ration. Those seeking a low carbohydrate and high fat diet, will not reap the benefits of a healthful diet and consume a d in fats and this is havoc on ones health.


The amount of calories from protein and fat required is 10 percent, this is adequate and healthful. This is not too low, it is considered to be sufficient because, the majority of our community consumes a high protein and fat diet found in meats, eggs and dairy products as using the 80/10/10 ratio.
