Have you ever thought about brain health?

A healthy Brain is very important at any age, and absolutely necessary for peak performance.

Brain health, has been defined by many experts and health Gurus. Brain health enables thoughts, planned action and emotional connections that impact the daily lives and progress of individuals, families and communities. Scientist who study the brain are called Neuroscientist. They dance to a different drum beat, and the music determines what mood, behavior and lifestyles changes will tell the story. And for decades they have used the scientific methods to study the brain in the following six steps:

  1. Asking the who, what, when, why, and how questions

  2. Doing the research

  3. Making a hypothesis

  4. Doing experiments

  5. Collecting data

  6. Making observations and conclusions.

One thing we know for sure, the brain is a very complicated organ, and it must be treated with respect to work in a healthy environment. This environment is a living organism, a body of water, flesh, bones, muscles, cells, blood, and living organs. Research has estimated that the brain has one hundred billion nerve cells and more connections in it than there are stars in the universe. the brain is about 2 percent of your body's weight, and it uses about 25 percent of the calories you consume. The brain is soft as butter, and consist of 80% water. The skull is hard, and it protects the brain. As with any injury to other areas of the body, the skull can also be cracked causing internal injuries, closed head injuries, and head injuries. To allow the brain to heal, it is vital that the proper conditions are provided such as, oxygen, pure water, nutrition, sunshine, temperature, rest, sleep, recreation, exercise, mental poise, and spiritual wellbeing.


Brain health can be optimized in every stage of life. The first step of optimizing a healthy brain is to rule out any deficits. These deficits can be related to poor diet, lack of exercise, chronic stress, poor sleep, negative thinking, drug and alcohol addictions, and excessiveness, to name a few. The brain wants to heal itself, but if it doesn't; get the support from the body, it will soon shut down, and attack itself with chronic health conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory loss, depression, attention deficit disorders, stroke, and addictions.


Below is a short list of natural ways to optimize and boost brain health with the following interventions:


1. Dietary interventions; foods that will help boost brain health.

for example: Dark leafy greens, Collard greens, Brussel sprouts, Spinach, and Broccoli.

Omega-3 fatty acids, oily fish, fruits and vegetables, that contain essential nutrients,

Avocados for healthy fat, Nuts and Herbs. However, there are other foods that can

be added if you are on a specialized meal plan. Please check with your HCP.


2. Physical and mental exercise; working out to help boost brain health.

for example: Yoga, Tai Chi, dancing, imagery, meditating, walking, jogging,

weight lifting, reading, and journaling. Physical exercise can increase blood

supply and enhance brain activity, such as thinking, problem solving, and memory.


3. laughter, laughter, laughter; is a natural way to help boost brain health.

for example: Laughter is the best medicine for a quick brain boost.

Telling a joke, reading the comics, or readers digest, and watching comedy TV show can

be enjoyable.

According to research, laughter is a good anectdote to lower levels of cortisol, the stress

hormone, and laughter releases the feel good chemical called endorphins, in the brain.

Laughter is contagious and a healthy way to feel good.


In conclusion, the brain is a complicated organ, and it is essential for the body to live.

Neuroscientist have studied the brain for centuries to understand how it works. Everyday there is something new that is discovered about the brain. The brain helps the body to heal from acute and chronic health diseases, if the right conditions are provided recovery can be witnessed. The brain is vital for the body to digest and assimilate nutrients. The brain is responsible for the other organs to live. The brain is soft like butter, and and it is protected by the skull. Brain health is important and it requires a healthy environment to function as the conductor. Brain health is required for overall health and wellbeing.
